Federal Reserve Banks and Branches Are Closed on Friday, June 18, 2021 for Juneteenth

President Biden signed legislation on Thursday to make Juneteenth a federal holiday. The new holiday will be observed on June 19th, the day that marks the end of slavery in the United States.

Juneteenth has been celebrated as a holiday in some form since the late 19th century, but it was only recently designated a federal holiday in 2021. The holiday has become more universally recognized since then, and it is now celebrated in all 50 states.

The Federal Reserve Banks and Branches will be closed on Friday, June 18, 2021 in observance of Juneteenth. The following is the standard holiday schedule for the Federal Reserve System:
